Ray Ardent is Live!

I’m a little late on posting this, but Ray Ardent: Science Ninja is live and playable on Armor Games.com

Ray has already had over 200,000 plays in the first few days of release and globally it’s been viewed close to 500,000 times. I’m hoping by the end of next week, I’ll be past one million views, which will be awesome.

Look for a post-mortem in the next couple of weeks. I’ll be going through some development and business lessons I learned along the way.

I’m already working on the next game and if the prototype is fun, there’ll be an announcement shortly afterwards.

My sincerest and heartfelt thanks for all of the people who have been following Ray throughout the year and a big welcome to all of the new people who found this blog through playing Ray.

  1. Congratulations! I’ve been tracking your progress and am really happy for you that it worked out so successfully.

I was wondering – I know you can’t share the money details, but how did you find the experience with FGL? How long was it waiting in the bidding process before Armor Games won?

You deserve a million plays and I’m sure you’ll get em. Keep up the fantastic work!

  2. Thanks Breakdance!

I’ll be going into detail on the whole bidding process in my post-mortem, but at a high level, the FGL experience was awesome.

The FGL crew are really great, the community was really helpful and the whole process came together like clockwork. Armor was awesome to work with.

I had Ray Ardent up for bidding for about 5 weeks before I closed the deal with Armor.

  3. I just wanted to tell you I reaaaaaaally enjoyed Ray Ardent, especialy the story and the world you created. Science + Ninja = OMG WTF SO COOL. Also the design is really good. And the music is just amazing.

I was wondering if it was possible to have the music alone, for personnal use ?

Anyway, really good and great job.

  4. Thanks Alka – glad you liked it.

I’ll e-mail the composer, John Tennant, and see if he’s going to post it for free or for sale on some of the sites he sells his music on.

  5. Just heard back from the composer – he’ll be posting it for free AND he’ll be posting all of the parts if people want to remix it. Psyched!

  6. i’ve been trying to play Ray Ardent on Armor Games for quite a while now.
the game loads, the music plays, but i’m stuck looking at a picture of Ray, and when i click outside the box, it pauses and gives me the instructions. What’s wrong?

  7. Hi Ridley,

You should see ‘PLAY’ in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click that and you are all set. Please let me know if you don’t see the ‘PLAY’
